H&M is teaming up with musicians, artists and designers to release a new Fashion Against AIDS line that will be available starting February 2008. Some of the big names involved include Rihanna, Rufus Wainwright, Good Charlotte, Jade Jagger, My Chemical Romance, Scissor Sisters, Timbaland and Ziggy Marley. All the artists are participating free of charge. Each piece will feature a print with the label carrying the name of the artist/designer. The line will have tank tops, tees and sweatshirts, with prices varying from $14.90 to $49.90.
12 million people aged 15-24 are now infected with the virus, and I think it’s great that H&M is doing its part in fighting the disease and spreading awareness, especially among young people. One-quarter of the proceeds from the collection will go to HIV-AIDS-prevention projects around the globe.
