Gifts that give back…

Okay, it’s that time of year again…Time to think about what to get those darling stinkers on your Christmas list. Here are a few suggestions that give back, and then a couple more frivolous finds you should check out.
Kids love animals and the WWF animal sponsorship gifts rocks. For around $50 you can send a little animal lover, a boxed kit with animal info, a sponsorship certificate and a little stuffie. Also works well when you have to buy something for a spoiled brat. You can feel good about spending some moula on them that way, that is, knowing you’ve helped a good cause. I am also a huge fan of the World Vision Christmas Catalogue and use that every year to finish off my holiday shopping with ease. Lots of ideas for every price range, it’s a reputable charity and you get a tax receipt and a gift card. Or shop with a company that supports relief efforts. I bought a whack of Zeitouna Extra Virgin Olive Oil, proceeds go to support Playground Builders Foundation and Medical Aid for Palestine. playgroundbuilders.org. I got mine at Nestor’s and I am giving it as a hostess gift this year instead of wine.
Now for the frivolous finds… If you haven’t tried Arbonne Botanical products you have to, they are my new addiction. It’s like Aveda, but more fun. Kinda Body Shop without the chemical scents and dyes! The Holiday line is so decadent and nourishing. Always Almond Body Wash and Body Velvet, Ginger Citrus Sugar Scrub, and Sweet Sugar Body Balm(smells like cupcakes, goes on smooth with a puff and leaves you with a bronze, slightly sparkly glow) are my new favourites. The Candles are all soy based, gorgeous scents. The FYI lipglosses blow sticky MAC lipglasses out of the water. They smell/taste fruity and light and aren’t sticky. Best of all, only $13! Try Vogue, or VIP. Since starting on the NutriMinCRe9 skincare my face has completely cleared up and my skin has a nice fresh feel - LOVE IT, and it lasts forever. The Sky mens line smells fresh and softly sexy. I have been so impressed by the stuff that I became a consultant and I decided to donate my commissions to World Vision! Magazine subscriptions make mighty fine gifts in a jiffy. For funky Mommies on your list, Cookie Magazine and Wondertime are very cool. I love Blueprint and for all my girls. Real Simple is simply great! Kids love Chirp and Chickadee. What guy wouldn’t love to read a GQ? It’s got a little something for everyone. Also some other new Canadian mags that are worth checking out like Wish and Chocolate. For the decorating guru, Canadian House and Home and Style at Home are classics. Dwell is amazing for anyone who loves modern design. For the health nut, Nutrition Action Report is filled with helpful info. I could go on all day, love them all. If only I had a bigger coffee table to keep them on…hint, hint to Santa!
So, no need to try out your sweet Ninja moves at the mall as you get pushed around by the mobs. Hop on your computer and shop away with a cuppa holiday cheer. Mulled wine anyone?
