Snowed in…

I love snow. Snow on bare branches, snow forts, snowmen, snowflakes, snow cones! I truly do love snow but one can only have so much of a good thing. Today as I watched my boys shovel clear our main floor windows and slide off the roof I couldn’t help but feel a little snowed-out. Our little white Whistler house has disappeared behind a mountain of a snowdrift. Mornings are filled with distant booms from the cannon triggering avalanches on the mountain before the days skiers arrive. Soggy mittens and sloppy boots are like a bad rug that lays in the front entrance. Wah, wah , wah. I must admit life in our snow cave is getting me down. No, not in a “Shining” kinda way, not yet, but I do need a little pick me up. Thinking about it I know what I need! Good winter clothes. No more soggy Uggs and chilly bones from a shabby coat. I need a Spiewak jacket and some good Sorrel boots, I need to get out and sip Starbucks while I wander the village. The snow is not the problem, it’s me not being cosy that’s the problem. So take it from me, if you are heading up for a little Whistler getaway pack well. Leave the fashion boots and shortie jackets at home, bring the parka and the mutluks. Be warm! Have fun, play in the snow, make angels and catch snowflakes on your tongue. It’s January and sparkling white blankets our town, it really is lovley.
