A ‘Good For You’ Diet

I was watching the View quite a few weeks back and was enlightened to something very interesting, but didn’t quite clue in to until just recently. The show was diets, and how they work (if at all) and they featured a diet called the tea diet. Now, as someone who has been absolutely obsessed with tea for years, and has an average of 4-6 cups of either green, white or red tea a day, it didn’t really phase me. The more I thought about it, the more I had to share it.
Tea is really one of the most remarkable drinks out there, it’s all natural and it’s health benefits are endless. Most tea’s, especially green’s and reds are jacked full of antioxidants, which is one of those ‘Good For You’ words you see everywhere nowadays. Tea can boost your immune system, lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels, slow the aging process, decrease high blood pressure, reduce the risk of stroke, heart disease, & cancer, and soooo much more. Tea helps to suppress your appetite while at the same time stimulating your metabolism, which, ultimately helps you lose weight, as long as you have a health focused eating style.
The part I found most interesting on The View, was that they recommend you finding tea’s that taste like the things you most enjoy eating. For instance, if your downfall is chocolate, find a tea that tastes like chocolate, and drink it when you are having a craving. Genius!
I recommend finding a gourmet tea shop in your town and skipping the tea isle in your local grocery store. The quality of tea will be much higher making the tea healthier, and your flavour options will be just about endless. My personal favorite tea’s are Genmaicha Green, Cream of Earl Grey White with a touch of Tuttie Fruittie added & Caramel Apple Rooibos (Red).
If you are looking for more info, there is a book called “The Ultimate Tea Diet”, I have not read it or even looked at it for that matter. If you pick it up let me know how it is.
