Happy Earth Day!! The one day a year that it is mandatory that you play nice. If you are not living and earth friendly lifestyle just yet, today is the day to start. If you are one that is lost in the whole “Eco-Friendly”, “Sustainable Living”, “Biodegradable” lingo and think that it’s just to complicated, think again. It really is easier than baking a cake.
First and easiest step, next time your at the grocery store, pick up a few reusable shopping bags. Just one of these handy bags saves approx. 1000 disposable bags from hitting our landfills.
Next, head over to your local hardware store and buy some CFL (Compact Fluorescent) light bulbs, and replace all of your incandescent’s. Switching helps by using 75% less electricity which reduces greenhouse gas emissions. CFL’s last 10 times longer than incandescent, eliminating 10 times the waste. You’ll also save 75% of your energy costs!
Buy some Biodegradable cleaning products. Cleaning your home actually dirties our land and water. The chemicals in conventional cleaning products are very harmful for the earth, not to mention your own health. Cleaning your house is actually bad for your health, with conventional cleaning products. Switch to biodegradable ones to live a better lifestyle.
