Oh spring. We’ve really been waiting. By the first glimpse of new greens, we forget about the long, cold winter we just had. I’ve been seeing the start of a new and brighter wardrobe on the street as well. Goodbye grey, we’re ready to embrace colors and prints.

Japanese-Inspired Prints

This season, Gentle Fawn has introduced some delicate and petite prints inspired by Japanese woodblocking. We have long been a favourite of Asian prints, and this is a great way to liven up your wardrobe without that “in your face” boldness.

CS recommends:FLIGHT (US/CANADA), an all over duo-colour print of flora & Japanese clouds. Available in Red orange. (picture 1, below)

BELLE (US/CANADA), a different take on Japanese woodblocking, in this all over printed dress, with solid color waistband and shoulder straps. Adorable. Available in White/Green, and Blue/White. We can’t pick which color is better, maybe you can. (picture 2, below)

Woven + Prints

Wovens are only for dress shirt- it’s time to kick that thought to the curb! We’ve seen people are really starting to dress up and play with fabrics again. A colorful print paired with tailor details can make a great alternative to your plain ol’ woven blouse.

CS recommends: TREETOP (US/Canada), a tie at the neck woven sleeveless, with front pleating and back keyhole. I cannot say enough about this top, the print is absolutely amazing and so versatile. Wear this with a cardigan and you’re set for work. Going out? Take the cardi off and you’re ready to rock. (picture 3, below)

HEART (US/Canada), Gentle Fawn bestseller this season, and I can understand why. Multi burst circle print, great pinafore-style tailoring. And we keep selling out. (picture 5, below)

Bold + Ethnic

Every summer, we see some sort of ethnic print do a big comeback. And this one? No different. It’s honestly one of the easiest way to update your wardrobe. Put on a dress with bright hues and statement print, pair it with the simplest shoes and a even simpler bag. You would be the center of attention.

CS recommends: PEACOCK (US/Canada), a knitted wool/rayon blend tunic dress, with peacock print, gold buttons and piping. It’s perfect for summer parties and a night out. (picture 4, below)
