Sex and the City Review…
After all the hype I had very high expectations of Sex and the City, the movie. I was definitely not disappointed. From start to finish it’s completely entertaining. We laughed, we gasped , we cried and cheered…it was an emotional roller coaster of a film! LOVED IT!
All the characters were back and better than ever. Jennifer Hudson also plays a great part as Carrie’s new assistant. I’m having a hard time doing this review without leaking any plot lines. Just go see it with some girlfriends, it’s a hoot. It’s not life changing or deep, it’s fashion,frivolous girl stuff and fun.
One thing that came up several times before and after the movie was the reasoning behind all the emphasis on the character Carrie. She is the only one in the poster and from what I have read she earns considerably more than the other women. I know she’s one of the producers …but as the series and movie go she doesn’t really stand out as the main character. It’s a story about four women, each quirky and lovable in their own way. They all work hard and it’s a shame they aren’t equally represented in the media or rewarded with residual pay.
I was also given an Art Project inspiration by the movie. When you see it, watch for the big LOVE painting in Carrie’s new blue apartment. It’s wonderful and I want to do an appropriation of it this summer. Maybe DREAM for above the bed…or HOPE or EAT for the kitchen. I am on a mission to find the artist…anyone in the know please comment.
