Shop Local, Eat Local

If the sun ever comes out, summer weekends are great to venture outdoors and breathe in the tantalizing smells of fresh fruit, vegetables and breads. The Vancouver Farmers Markets has just started and it’s a great way to support your local grocer and farmers, and buy fresh organic food. I just came back from the Kitsilano Farmers Market and it felt like the country has been brought to the city. There were vendors with such a variety of herb plants that you can even make Jamie Oliver ‘green’ with envy. The smells of fresh vegetables, breads and spices encourages you to go straight home and cook up a storm.

The markets are all around Vancouver and each one is unique and different. So you can go to a new one every week. Help BC farmers keep farming and keep yourself healthy by checking out one of these festive markets.
